The Irreversible ThermostatThis is a featured page

Global Warming can be described as a "heating of the earth".
What happens is this: when a lot of carbon dioxide is put into the atmosphere, the sun's rays can still penetrate it to heat the earth. Though, the atmosphere is too thick with carbon dioxide that the rays can not bounce back into space. They are trapped, and have no choice but to stay within the atmosphere and heat the earth even more.
The effects are: we will receive more hurricanes because warmer water means worse weather. Also, polar bears will go extinct. If all of the ice melts, they have nothing to rest on and will drown. Finally, we will experience permanent flooding. When all of the glaciers melt, it will cause a dramatic and severe rise in sea level.
What we can do to stop it is: Use less energy and don't pollute the air. Examples are driving less, getting florescent lighting, recycling, reusing things, and PLANTING TREES!
Please help; save the earth for our future generations. If we don't act now, our world will be run on an IRREVERSIBLE THERMOSTAT!!!
