RECYCLED ART!!!

Hey, all you "Club Green" members!!! I'm "aquaviva" and I LOVE art!!!

But one day I thought about something. "Why can't art look good but also help the environment?"

So I kept pondoring on his subject for quite a while and then the answer came to me!

IT CAN!!!

Then I started getting these amazing ideas!!!

"What if someone made an Eifle Tower out of toilet paper rolls paper towel rolls?"

That would look really cool!

So now I'm taking all the paper towel rolls and eventually I'll have enough!

But also we can also make cool posters out of trash!

For example I am currently making a poster for "limenikki" made out of "Starburst" rappers!!!

So design, recycle, assemble, work!!!

It really is a wonderful thing when whole groups (businesses and towns) decide to go green. Thankfully, a few already have! Here are only a couple of examples of "green" communities. (Including a video to the left about a "green" day care center)

Greensburg:
On May 4, 2007; a massive tornado hit and completely destroyed a small city in Kansas. On May 19, 2008; The city council approved the idea of rebuilding this town into a "green" community. All the heating is geothermal, all light bulbs are compact florescent, and even the building structure is environmentally friendly. Let us congratulate them on their big accomplishment.

Ted's Montana Grill:
There is a restaurant called "Ted's Montana Grill." This restaurant is owned by Ted Turner, he also owns TNT, the channel on television! Ted's is a very nice place to eat, and it is green, too! They have low-flow tolets, and togo cups made of corn so they are 100% biodegradable, even their place mats are made of recycled paper! Thats not even the half of it! Kermit was the first to say "It isn't easy being green!", but he didn't know that it would end up being quoted on many Eco-sites, just like Club Green! Only Club Green, unlike all of those other sites, was made middle school kids! Kool, right? Yes! Well, this site is very educational, but I don't think that its all that fun! So this page is going to be all about fun, and it doesn't have to be green related, okay?

I'll start putting whatever I can find... that could be music videos, games, and mabey even polls! If you have any ideas for me, tell me at the bottom of this page (Please include directions).

"Bon Appetite"! You don't have to eat meat to be sure that your getting a delicious meal. In fact, our bodies aren't even designed to take in meat! It's okay every once in a while, but we Americans (and us conservationists especially) need to get a grip on our "meat habit".

But when you do eat meat, be sure that it's organic. This means that they fed the animals real food, not hormones to make them get bigger faster. Because guess what? Those hormones are getting into us and making us fat!

The same goes with milk. Anything other than organic means that machines are squeezing the living daylights out of those poor cows' utters. So we're not drinking milk, we're drinking whatever guts come out of that cow that they dye white! Gross...isn't it? So beware next time you go grocery shopping...for those hidden surprises within the packages!

One day, when you leave this earth, you may leave a will to your children or grandchildren. It might contain money, furniture, or even a house! That's great, but it may be of no use. What I mean is, you may be leaving behind a world that nobody wants to live in. A world that even the most tropical and heat tolerant things will die of heat exaustion. A world where you are dizzy 24/7 because of the polluted air. A world of no clean water.

Make sure that you leave behind a world that you would be proud to call home.

Nowadays, there are plenty of choices that you can make to help save the environment. Not alll decisions are boring, take shopping for example. You can forget that ugly and harmful leather belt, and get that fashionable hemp one instead! They also have hemp jewelry, flip-flops, back-packs, shampoos, curtains, gloves, leashes, and more! In many malls, stores that are entirely based on hemp products are working their way in. So shop smart, and be hemp!

If your reading the website, and your feeling overwhelmed by all the information your seeing and how to save the Earth, just take a breath and think. You might think that YOU have to save the Earth, and that if you don't do everything, the earth will fall apart. You also might think that you don't have to help and someone else can do it (that also might mean that your a really lazy person). Well, NEITHER ARE TRUE!!!!! Every one has to do THEIR PART in order to help save the earth.
Bad equation:
Tons of people doing NOTHING + A few people doing everything they can = A sad and trashed Earth
Isn't that terrible!?!?!?
But if we get the word out.......
We get a good equation...
Very few people doing nothin + Tons and tons of people DOING THEIR PART =
And A clean and happy Earth!!
So DO YOUR PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"That explains what global warming is and how its caused, but how can we help stop it?"

"We can walk, carpool, buy products with less packaging, bike, or find an alternative energy from fossil fuels!"

Simple Questions

1: How many plants die a year from air pollution?

2: How many animals die a year from water pollution?

3: How much chemicals are you putting in your body by eating the normal store veggies?

4: How much are you doing to stop this miss use of the things GOD gave us?

5: How soon will you make the choice and GO GREEN?

If you know the answers to these questions that is great,
but if not you need to research some more.
As well as make some life changing decisions.

Its Summer,

that means it is time to

P-A-R-T-Y!!!

So make all of your

parties eco-parties!

Here are a couple of ways to

make your eco-party

eco-cool!

Getting the word out.

Green invitations are a easy way to help your eco-party get all of the attention it needs! You can easily get recycled paper to make your own invitations, or you can buy pre-made ones! You can even buy biodegradable ink!!! Or skip the whole "paper invitations" thing, and e-mail, or call you guests! Its easy, and VERY personal!

Transportation.

Carpooling is a great way to save money on gas, create less admissions, and get the party there faster! Ask around who has hybrids, or gas saving cars! Also find who lives near who. How easy is that?!?

Food.

Organic food is a healthy, tasty, and good for the environment! Also, you CAN waste by having a buffet! Most people think that buffets are green options, but refilling the food will lead to a lot of left overs that will just be thrown away!

Plates and Silverware.

Nowadays, recycled (and recyclable) goods are everywhere! They're also a lot sturdier than people think. So, be sure to buy plates and plastic silverware that's recycled.

Lighting.

Before you turn on that lightbulb for your party: think twice. You should use disco balls: they require less light! Plus...every cool party has one!

Soil erosion is a very serious environmental hazard! You might just think that all erosion is water that carries away sand, and dirt, but it is much worse than that! Water isn’t the only element that carries away soil! There is rain, wind, sleet, snow, ect.. The main reason for soil erosion is us! Humans! We cut down trees for cities, and towns! We plow down plants for our farms, and lawns! Then there is no longer anything to hold in the soil, and it is easily carried away! Acting now is the only antidote to this fatal future that we are heading toward! Stop the madness!

They nurse them up to good health and then let them free back into the wild. When we think of threatened or endangered turtles, most people think about sea turtles. However, there are other turtle species that are classified as threatened or endangered as well. There are some organizations that are dedicated to other turtles of the world also."

Recycling is really good for the environment

For every one ton of paper we recycle, 17 trees are saved!

Recycling saves energy AND it saves our natural resources

Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours- or the equivalent of a half gallon of gasoline

To produce each week's Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must be cut down

Recycling a single run of the Sunday New York Times would save 75,000 trees

The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years

Americans throw away 25,000,000 plastic beverage bottles every hour

Americans use 85,000,000 tons of paper a year; about 680 pounds per person

Each ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water. This represents a 64% energy savings, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less of air pollution

Every month, we throw out enough glass bottles and jars to fill up a giant skyscraper, and all of these jars are recyclable

The highest point in Ohio is "Mount Rumpke," which is actually a mountain of trash at the Rumpke sanitary landfill

75% of our trash can be recycled

Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours

Every year, Americans throw away enough office and writing paper to build a wall 12 feet high, stretching from Los Angeles to New York City
